Land Development/Degradation
Why is the land being developed?
Given that the land of the chaparrals is beautiful and right near the coast many people want to live there so houses, hotels, and stores are fighting to relocate and build on the land of this biome.
Why is the land being degraded?
The land is being degraded because it is receiving more and more spontaneous wild fires every year, it is starting to get filled with weeds that cannot adapt to the fire and only help it spread, and it is now getting filled with pollution which is killing all of the wildlife. This being said, the chaparral has no organization really helping it survive.

What effects will it have on the ecosystem?
This affects the ecosystem by changing the home that they are adapted to. A lot of the animals are being affected because their homes are now unlivable and they need to find somewhere else to go. Also, many of the plants aren’t able to grow in their initial growing locations anymore due to change in environment so that plant population either decrease or is forced to start growing somewhere else.
